TGB ADVISORY GROUPS

At the September 2007 board meeting, the TGB approved the formation of two advisory groups to aid in the execution of the board’s duties. As specified in the legislative code creating the TGB, advisory groups may be formed by the TGB to perform tasks as deemed necessary by the board. In an effort to free more time for the board at TGB monthly board meetings and to allow more effort in certain key areas, the board approved the formation of two advisory groups, and both IT standards and IT-related RFPs were felt to be the highest priority for the board. Each advisory group will have as members: three TGB members (one member being a public member), one JCIO member, one CIO Council member and the designated state CIO. One meeting a month will be scheduled for both advisory groups, in addition to the regularly scheduled TGB monthly board meetings. The advisory group meetings will all be held as public meetings and will follow necessary rules and regulations.
